The willow sticks start from a fairy robust with of about 1cm then taper to a thin end - hence the name willow whips
Once beat into shape the withie sticks can be secured using maskign tape or wire. Then they can be covered in wet strength tissue paper to create lanterns or spectacular 3D sculptures. Willow craft at its best.
